I am originally from England but have spent the last twenty years living in the USA, in Philadelphia. I ran a small online business from our house and my husband Jim worked for a large defense company there.

Two years ago we escaped! We ran away to live by the sea! Now we are a happy, laid back bums, living our dream in Florida.

It's more a temporary midlife retirement than a permanent thing. So although it's lovely to step off the treadmill and get away from everyday stresses it's only for another year. We don't know which direction we'll go in next so it's fun kicking around ideas with different people and listening to their advice and suggestions.

Jim is using the time learning to cook and I'm eating the results!

I like to read many different types of novels and biographies, listen to classical music and opera and watch action movies, documentaries and period dramas. Jim likes non fiction books, car tv shows and action movies.

I love hearing people's stories, I am well travelled and have a few to tell of my own. I like learning new things and hearing different opinions. I like to play cards and board games etc. Jim loves to talk about motorbikes and cars.
