About Me

Hi ! I'm Lysiane (she/her), 31 years old.

In my everyday life, I’m a geography student, focusing on past environments and their connections with ancient societies and archaeology studies. I still keep this curious eye when I’m traveling, always looking for interesting landscapes and stories behind the places I visit. And I love sharing what I discover with others.

I have lots of interests ! I enjoy taking photos and getting lost in good novels. Board games are one of my favorite ways to spend an evening with friends. I’m also a practical person who enjoys working with my hands, whether it’s woodworking or fixing cars. When I’m outdoors, you’ll often find me hiking or occasionally climbing. Also, I appreicate tinkering on my computer for improving my workflow, making maps, and slowly learning to code.

I care deeply about social rights and mental health, which I see as closely connected. I believe these issues are important for building inclusive communities. I’m always open to thoughtful conversations and to sharing resources, and I strive to make the people around me feel heard, supported, and included.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel, I prefer to take things slow (I really enjoy hitchhiking), get involved in local community life, and exchange knowledge and good times, rather than just rushing. That’s why I’ve chosen Couchsurfing. It’s a great way for me to connect with people, contribute, and really experience a place.

I actually started using Couchsurfing over ten years ago, creating some incredible memories like discovering Verona as a guest, and welcoming travelers as a host when I was living in Toulouse. Unfortunately, I lost access to my old profile, but I’m excited to dive back in and build new connections and experiences here.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m an avid reader and usually have several books on the go each week. Historical novels are my favorite, but I also love anticipation novels, nature writing and young adult fiction.

When it comes to music, my playlist is a mix of many moods and genres. You’ll find Massive Attack, Ben Howard, Ludovico Einaudi, Woodkid, Linkin Park, Alt-J, and Coldplay along with some classic New Wave like Depeche Mode or Tears For Fears.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’d love to share what I know about geography and reading landscapes. I enjoy thoughtful conversations, playing board games, and going for walks—whether in nature or exploring new cities. I’m also happy to give tips for hitchhiking and can offer advice on car repairs or woodworking. In return, I love learning about other cultures, tasting local food, and discovering people’s favorite spots or simply exchanging stories and experiences.
