About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling around the world and meeting new people!

ABOUT ME

Lyssa is a writer for different parties. She aspires to write a book and loves to travel. Michiel studies at the Rockacademy and spends most of his time playing guitar, recording bands and designing websites (as a hobby).

PHILOSOPHY

*THINK IT HAPPEN!

*Don't do to people what you wouldn't like yourself.

*Everything always turns out okay, and if not, it's not the end of your story yet..

*Live your life like a child.

*Don't let your fears paralyse you.

And so on.. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We recently moved in together and now have enough space to host people! We welcome anyone who wants to surf our couch and have some interaction. We're not a hotel ;)

We have some lovely typically Dutch and Belgian dishes to share with you. The two of us know a few languages we could teach you and if you're an aspiring guitarist, please come to our place and have your first lesson!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have a lot of friends that are couchsurfers and they are all very positive about the community! Michiel has hosted a few people and Lyssa has surfed one or two couches, but we want to extend that experience by hosting a lot more people!

Interests

Drama (of course), Music! Reading, Swimming, Saxophone, Travelling, Languages, Arts...
I like going for tea or a cocktail with friends or going to the artsy (better) movie places, Studio Skoop and Sphinx. I work in a theaterhouse in Ghent and afterwards I like to follow the night. I love dancing, going out and meeting people. I like throwing parties, every reason is good enough. I love my cat, Wolf. I like talking, about anything, philosophy, clouds, people..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A breathtaking moment was in the mountains of the Andes in Argentina where I was overwhelmed by the complete and utterly astonishing silence. It was like nothing I had ever heard before. Not a breeze, not a bird, nothing..

And..
A few years ago I went to Rome with one of my best friends and we did some completely crazy (and maybe stupid) things. One of them was.. We were scuba diving and an older man passed by the cliffs where we were. He asked us if we would like to join him and his friend on their sail boat. So we did. We made a beautiful sailing trip that afternoon and afterwards we went to their house, took a shower (without them of course!), had a lovely Italian dinner and were brought back to the train station in a cool car. This made me realise that there still are people to be trusted.

Teach, Learn, Share
