Mrutyunjay is a recognised expert in data-driven decision-making and a leading commentator on Indian consumer behaviour. At Mandala Innovation Network he is responsible for discovering minds, ideas, problems and solutions. His personal work areas are limited to sustainable livelihood, learning over education and health.

In more than 20 years work life in the data science space, Mrutyunjay focused on data projects, that helped him co-found independent companies like JuxtConsult, Juxt Smart Mandate, Oizom, Smarthealth.ai and ZillionDots, he is currently mentoring a few resident hackers, open data evangelists, vacant chair research fellows and incubating interesting solutions around the UN SDGs.

Prior to 2006, he worked in a number of leading organisations including IMRB International (Kantar, WPP), IDC India (IDG Group), Convergys India Services (CVG), LiquidHub Analytics (Quatrro) and ASHA (a rural development NGO).

At various points in his career, he headed large volume data analytics, consumer research, strategic business research, quality projects, usability studies and change management projects. He has had considerable exposure to projects in a diversity of domains – ICT, media, Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI), fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), pharmaceutical, consultancy services, government, social development and public administration & policy. He boasts functional consulting experience in implementing dashboards and reporting solutions in enterprise resource planning (ERP) environments. And he is also involved in other compelling initiatives around analytics-driven health solutions, learning over education, digital marketing, and skills development.

Mrutyunjay is also one of the founding members of the Centre for Marketing in Emerging Economies at IIM, Lucknow.

He spent his formative years in Sambalpur (a small town in Odisha) University Campus, where his father is a former professor. He is a graduate in commerce and a postgraduate in advertising and marketing. He loves humans, dogs, likes reading, is a movie buff, collects postal stamps and matchboxes, enjoys being a cook and likes travelling and; meeting people.
