My name is Maarten, I'm freshly graduated person living in the beautiful center of The Netherlands: Utrecht. Well.. close to it. I did study computer science, always been interested in it. But no, I don't sit all day behind a desk, life's far too short for that.

I enjoy exploring new places I've never been to. Something magical about it. While studying, in the weekends I used to use my free public transport pass (that many student's get while studying in this country) to visit every corner and having a fun time.

Serious sports I don't really persue, I rather spend hours playing on an instrument. Also I can't help singing when I cycle to work. I just love music.

I'm fascinated by libraries. So many books at one play, nobody can read them all alone. I can wonder in those for hours picking books and reading bits.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I fell in love with getting to know new people and new cultures. It all started when I visited Israel and Croatia in the summer; I'd never seen something like that before, it was so unlike my sweet home. I felt like I wanted to talk to everybody I saw.. but that wasn't possible unfortunately.

I've not been long on Couchsurfing, so I wonder what experiences await me! Hope it will give me that amazing feeling back when exploring new places on the globe :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Sherlock is that one series for me. It never get's boring! I got to watch one episode
in highschool, and a few years later I discovered I could see the whole series. Amazing.

Apart from that, The Hunger Games I also really enjoy. If you've got time, read the books! Books are story-wise so much better than the movies.
