About Me
Since I can remember myself I always wanted to do something special with my life. I knew that for that I need knowledge, languages and experience. When I was younger, about 15, I started to explore my city, and that is how I found the option to volunteer on an ambulance after a 60 hours course, how I found poetry lessons going around the city, how I started to be interested in politics and terms such as Capitalism and Communism.
As if it was my second step of learning, my mother got transferred to work in Russia when I was 16, and so her, my brother and I got the chance to discover a whole new place, and actually- our roots. There were museums, people, and most of all- a school that taught in English and not in Hebrew.
Then the year past and it was time to come back home, only after tasting the different way of education I couldn't simply return to my old school. That is why I took the risk and joined the very first year of a new school that has opened in Israel, a boarding school- the Eastern Mediterranean International School. I am now at my second and final year. Not much choice in my hands, I am to be conscripted to the army when the summer comes around, but I do not fear the army, because I know that from every evil (because what is wars and armies if not evil?) can come something good, but only if the participant does not conform.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Last year I went with my friends to Poland, and there we stayed with a wonderful young woman that was on couch surfing. My friends, 18 at the time and on couch surfing, arranged the whole thing- while I was sure we are going to stay at a friend's house. It turned out to be my most memorable trip, mainly due to my new Polish friends. Right now I am not able to host because I am living in a boarding school, but I know that when the day comes, and I will have my own apartment, many couch surfers would sleep there :)
