ABOUT ME

Hi! We're Sonia & Álvaro, a young Spanish couple whose passions in life are travelling, meeting new people and learning languages.

Álvaro (24) studied Biochemistry in Madrid and spent a practical year in Germany. Now he's just starting to do his PhD in a research center in Madrid. He plays football and rugby. He also plays guitar and just got a violin :)

Sonia (21) studies Medicine (5th year) in Madrid. She plays piano and learns violin. She does voluntary work with children at La Paz hospital in Madrid. She also spent one month working as a volunteer medical assistant in Peru. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with her family, friends and her 6 cats :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, we're not able to host, as we live with our parents, so at the moment, we're looking forward to participating in this community as surfers, giving our company and joy in return.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We're really new at this (july 2010)! But we do have had some experience as CSers travelling to Poland and Lithuania through PasportaServo, very much like the Esperanto language counterpart to CS.

Looking for couches for our UK trip we have contacted some CSers, most of which have answered us in a very nice, friendly way. We're really excited to share our trip with all those kind persons who have agreed to meet us up there. Can't wait to meet you, guys!

Interests

Our interests are many and varied: languages, sports, music, science, history, culture... we're quite eclectic people who become easily impressed by any of the beautiful or interesting things in our world.

Teach, Learn, Share

We just love to learn, so if you have any particular ability, please share it with us!

We can teach some piano and guitar. As for languages, we can teach you some words in interesting languages like Esperanto or Sign Language if you're interested. We can teach you how to write your name in Chinese (which would be 阿瓦罗 or 索尼娅 in the improbable case that your name was Álvaro or Sonia :)) If you're learning Spanish, we'll be delighted to teach you any words or idioms in our mother tongue!
