My name's Mac and I've created a profile on Couchsurfing with only one goal in mind: to meet fellow travelers! As a solo traveler, it can be a pretty lonely place out there, which is why I'm looking to meet cool local people like you and/or find a travel buddy!

A little bit about me:

Even though I've lived in Bangkok, Thailand my whole life, to Asian's standard, I'm pretty westernized since I grew up being exposed to American television and attended an international school/college in my teenage years.

An ideal adventure for me includes walking for hours and sightseeing all the different places the city has to offer. I especially love Western architecture and art, as inspired by studies during college years, not to mention the enriching history and diverse culture in Europe and the U.S.

As an introvert at heart, I do not really enjoy nightclubs with loud music. A perfect evening would include spending time with nice and fun people, exchanging cultural and life stories one has to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing mainly to make new friends while traveling around the world. I'm neither looking for a place to stay nor hosting my place. Just wanna explore new sights and experience the local culture through the local people's eyes!

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't think these interests should be a barrier to getting to know new people. In fact, you're always learning more if the people you're meeting share different interests, but here you go:

Music

- Blues, jazz, country, and some pop songs. I prefer a lot of 80s and 90s musicians like Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, B.B. King and the like although I don't discriminate modern day artists. However, I still can't stand rave or techno music that they open in night clubs. Not my cup of tea I suppose...

Movies

- All time favorites would be the Star Trek series and any movies or programs related to science fiction (yes, I'm a bit nerdy). Horror, comedy, rom-com and other genres are also welcome.

Books

- One of the most influential books would have to be the Diary of Anne Frank. The rest would include A LOT of business books and self-improvement, due to the nature of my work, and human psychology.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Build an online business that allows me to travel the world 24/7. Hopefully, with more travel experience, I'll be able to include the amazing things I've done related to travel later.

Teach

- Guitar and basic piano.
- How to build an online business
- Thai language
- How to play tennis, table tennis

Learn

- How to travel like a pro.
- More music instruments, preferably the violin.
- Doing different accents.

Share

- I could share what living in Bangkok, Thailand is like if that's what you're in to. Warning: it's HOT all the friggin time!!
- Be careful of the taxis and tuk-tuks in Bangkok. Whenever they see "farangs" (foreigners), they'll overcharge you. Doesn't happen all the time, but it's good to know.
