About Me

*I receive many couch requests. Please read through my profile and get to know a bit about me before sending a request.*

CURRENT MISSION

I want to enrich my life by exploring the world and befriending interesting people.

ABOUT ME

I'm a down-to-earth guy with a wide range of interests. A few friends refer to me as the "Mack-of-all-trades". I love trying new things and learning.

I've been traveling as much as possible in the past few years, and I hope to be more or less constantly on the move for the next eight to ten years of my life. I am independent, but love to make close connections with people. Meeting people from around the world is absolutely my favorite part of travel.

PHILOSOPHY

It is man's purpose to express himself, bring form to thought, and to discover meaning in experience.

"You can never have an impact on society if you have not changed yourself." --Nelson Mandela

I hear and I forget
I see and I remember
I do and I understand

Interests

I really enjoy theatre, both as a spectator and a participant. I absolutely love going to see shows, and I am also interested in directing, writing, and acting. I appreciate poetry immensely, and read and write poetry in my spare time. I am very interested in the concept of sustainable development, among many other things. I'm a marketer, a writer, a designer, a deep-thinker, a comedian, a gamer, an experimenter, an adventurer, and an amateur cook.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Being John Malkovich, Nightmare on Elm Street, Donnie Darko, Pan's Labyrinth, Akira, and pretty much any superhero flick.

Music: I enjoy a wide range of music. Some of my favorite artists include The Beatles, Tinie Tempah, Ellie Goulding, Linkin Park, Simon & Garfunkel, Jack's Mannequin, Bassnectar, Jason Mraz, Sleigh Bells, Stepdad, Wallpaper, Kanye West, George Watsky, Jai Paul, Queen, Macklemore, Imogen Heap, Imagine Dragons, The Weeknd, Benny Benassi, Swedish House Mafia, Avenged Sevenfold, Sam Sparro, Vampire Weekend, and Skylar Grey.

Books: I am currently reading "The Fifth Season" by N. K. Jemsin. Some of my favorite books include "The White Hotel" by D. M. Thomas, "Oryx and Crake" by Margaret Atwood, "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy, "It" by Stephen King, and "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

• Burning Man with The Enchanted Booty Forest.

• Following an elephant through the streets of Copenhagen. It led me to a Mardi Gras-themed tequila bar!

• Spending the day at Como Lago in Italy. The weather was perfect yet the areas which are normally swarming with tourists were fairly unpopulated. It seemed magical, as if this astonishingly beautiful place had been laid out just for the arrival of me and my friends.

• Sitting directly on stage for a performance of Shakespeare's "Richard III" in London.

• Having a snowball fight in Berlin with new friends from around the world. It may seem insignificant to some, but helped me realize how free I am and how accessible the world is.

• Seeing the Eiffel Tower sparkle from the top of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

• Amsterdam.

• Hiking to a waterfall near Cade's Cove, Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Although I see myself as young, inexperienced, and slightly ignorant (though I don't always like to admit it) I am fairly knowledgeable about the things I am passionate about: environmental studies, writing, hospitality, technology and theatre. I also have thousands of random useless facts floating around my brain that I've picked up throughout my life.

Learn: I am hungry to learn and experience as much as I can! Absolutely anything new you can teach me I would be grateful for.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm always eager to share stories, food, and experiences. If you're an entrepreneur or interested in building your personal brand, I'm always happy to provide marketing tips and teach you a bit about SEO, search marketing, YouTube Ads, the Amazon marketplace, or how to market your new app through Google Play and the App Store.
