I've been working on a sailboat named Seaward this past year, but now I've got a bunch of free time to travel before I help her sail back from los Cabos, Mexico to San Francisco, Ca. So now I'm in Peru! And my mission is to continue practicing my Spanish, to volunteer on some farms or other good projects (like working with kids, which I've been doing in Lima), and get to know lots of beautiful natural places and people.
i'm a person, I like people, I like to explore.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed a lot, in the past for long chunks of time, but lately it's been more rare. I have hosted a little, but I haven't actually had my own place in... 2 and a half years? So I hope to host some more if I can, in the future.
Wonderful! Couchsurfers are the friendliest people ever.
people, art, nature, sailing, music, books, everything
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: open-minded to all genres. Lately I listen to Talking Heads a lot and dance around while washing dishes.
Movies: again too many, but Terry Gilliam is probably my favorite director right now.
Books: favorite authors: Vladimir Nabokov, Italo Calvino, Fyodor Dostoevsky, David Foster Wallace, Jesse Ball, Sjon, and (guilty scifi pleasure) Kim Stanley Robinson.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sailing really close to humpback whales! So magical. Like being in the presence of otherworldly gods.
Teach, Learn, Share
I guess I can teach artsy stuff, and practice languages.
I also like to leave a painting sometimes. Cook together. Do something we've never done before.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food, stories, art, anything!
