I recently sailed to the big island of Hawai'i from San Diego, and I decided to get off the boat and make a home base for the first time in a long while. Now I work part time as a cook and spend the rest of my time reading, making things, and going on adventures or staying in with my partner. I plan to start school next spring. I've been enrolled in the school of life for a while, but I want to check out an institution and study... everything. Especially languages, natural sciences, and art.
I'm a person, I like people, I like to explore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed a lot, in the past for long chunks of time, but lately it's been more rare. I have hosted a little, but I haven't actually had my own place in a while. So I hope to host some more if I can, in the future.
Wonderful! Couchsurfers are the friendliest people ever.
people, nature, sailing, music, art, books, everything
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: open-minded to all genres, from anywhere. I really like Ali Farka Toure, Nina Simone, and Talking Heads, and especially any music my friends make.
Movies: Only good ones.
Books: favorite authors: Italo Calvino, Nicholson Baker, David Foster Wallace, Jesse Ball, Sjon, and Kim Stanley Robinson.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sailing really close to humpback whales! So magical. Like being in the presence of otherworldly gods.
Teach, Learn, Share
I guess I can teach artsy stuff, practice languages, maybe cook together, or just do something we've never done before.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food, stories, books, art, anything!
Countries I’ve Visited
