Travel to Paris, Scotland, Italy from early or mid May to early or mid June 2010

ABOUT ME

We're a young retired couple, 50's and 60's, very much into healthy lifestyle, environment, sustainability, justice issues. We live in a 200 yr old house in upstate New York, grow peaches, garden veggies and flowers, heat mostly with wood, homeschooled 2 kids, one still in college working on ph.d. We love music, nature, people, simplicity, beauty. Spiritual but not religious. Yoga, meditation, pilates.

PHILOSOPHY

Without war and corruption this world would be a true garden of eden this could be. Let us create community together.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are new to CS. We joined because of our trip to Europe which we expect to take during the month of May 2010. Our son Brandon has been a CS member for several years and has traveled extensively in the US as well as in India. Its because of his positive experiences that we decided to join.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No experience other than emailing with other members. Thru our son we have hosted several college age CS members.

We read mostly nonfiction, sociology, history, health, we have hundreds of books.
World music, Slow blues, Jazz, Old Rock, Classical and more.
Documentaries, The Last Station, Garbage Warrior, Age of Stupid -- we don't spend much time watching movies for entertainment or tv.

Took hang gliding lessons and had the most exhilarating flight. Scuba diving also spectacular.

Giving birth and helping with the births at home.

Teaching our kids at home from K to high school.

Succeeded in stopping a coal burning power plant from being built in our town and other environmental activist work.

Teach organic gardening, and willing to learn same.
Teach basic residential house construction.
Teach children whatever they're interested in and learn from them too.
