CURRENT MISSION
Exploring the intersections between people and the environment
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Minnesota, USA, studied anthropology in Rhode Island, and am currently a graduate student in California studying environmental and ecological anthropology.
I love being outside, hiking, gardening, felting, farming, baking, and doing just about anything that directly engages my physical and mental focus on experiencing the natural world. I am interested in alternative and traditional agricultural systems and in the important symbolic and cultural roles that plants and fungi play in our lives.
This summer I will be traveling in China to start scoping field sites and meeting potential collaborators for my doctoral research (which deals with wild fungi harvesting practices and markets). I'm hoping to meet intellectually curious and open people during my travels this summer!
