ABOUT ME

Every time I'm about to go somewhere new, I get that little rush inside me...like everything is tingling and you are ready for something new. Meeting new people and experiencing new things is the only way to live!!!

I'm double majoring in International Relations and Environmental Analysis and Policy, with a Chinese minor. I'm planning on moving to Asia the minute I graduate and never coming back.

PHILOSOPHY

The only thing being stressed does is make you stressed. If you are in an uncertain situation you just have to embrace it and go with the flow. Look at every new experience as an opportunity to learn and grow.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've mostly been a surfer. I have a sweet deal where I have a double room all to myself this summer so after years of tiny rooms I can finally start hosting! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed in Chiang Mai and Bangkok in 2011, surfed all around Puerto Rico for two months, was in Beijing for 5 days, and Taiwan for a week! The couchsurfing community has been so good to me, and I've had amazing experiences with everyone I've met.

I laugh loudly and frequently. I'm open to absolutely anything. I love a quality discussion, but I also love to just joke around and enjoy life. I enjoy good food. I love yoga, hiking, kayaking, snowboarding, running, and basically being out in the world. I'm an avid coffee drinker. I go for long walks. I love to sing

Music: I really wish I were one of those people who were very passionate about the certain kind of music they like... but I really just like everything. I mean I'm not tryna do a yoga practice to the sweet sounds of dubstep, but I'm generally pretty down with whatever

Movies: I view movies as a social activity...if I am with someone else, I am more that happy to watch a movie (and make obnoxious commentary =/), but I'm not really one to sit down and watch a movie by myself. That being said, I like movies that will make me laugh and/or make me think. Whatever movie fits that description is good enough for me.

Books: Harry Potter, Abarat, Flowers for Algernon, A Prayer for Owen Meany, Catch 22, The Help, Hunger Games, The Devil and George Bailey, Game of Thrones... I really like John Irving and Barbara Kingsolver... I love to read, I would take a book over a movie any day of the week :)

1. I was in Cambodia during the protests for the last election which was soooo interesting, I could talk about it for a long long time
2. I helped release a 90 lb python into a forest!
3. Great Wall -- really not cliche, totally worth it and just as awesome as everyone says it is
Really, way too much

I really want to hike around Patagonia, climb Mt. Everest (maybe not the whole way, but a good chunk), and hike along all 2,000 miles of the Great Wall.

I taught English in Cambodia for a year, and I really love to correct people's grammar and help people struggling with English. So if you are trying to learn English, I'm happy to help you!

I would also like to be able to practice my German, Khmer, and Chinese! It's so hard to keep up on 3 different languages so I always appreciate the opportunity to practice :)
