Focus on my health and well-being, start up some old hobbies (some new ones too), start travelling off the beaten track. Stop spending my time thinking about how to spend my time and start being in the now.

ABOUT ME

Hi there, I'm Maddi! I come from a small town near Byron Bay. I spent a year and a half studying in Tokyo, travelling Europe and Au-pairing in Madrid. I ended up with a degree in Linguistics and Languages, went back to Tokyo for an internship in public diplomacy. I've been back in Japan 5 years now, and am currently working in PR, contributing to regional revitalisation on Awaji Island in the Hyogo Prefecture.

PHILOSOPHY

It’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed when I was travelling in Europe and after returning back to Australia I hosted a few people and showed them around. I'd be up for going on some road trips and doing some exploring. If you're thinking of coming to Awaji Island or the Kansai area, send me a message!

I've met some amazing people through both surfing and meet ups. Couchsurfing has given me a greater insight to the world and I've been blown away by the kindness of so many people I've met through this site.
