Hi!

I'm Madeleine, or Maddy for short. I'm a musician, I play electric bass and a bit of upright bass. I have my certificate in Jazz Performance from Humber College in Toronto. I'm currently taking a break from music school to travel the world. I practice yoga and I'm vegetarian! Looking forward to meeting new people from all over the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've decided that this year I want to do a lot of solo travel. As a student, I don't have a lot of money to stay in hotels all over the world. I want to Couchsurf because I want to live with the locals, and have authentic experiences while saving a bit of money on accommodation. I love meeting new people, and trying new things!

Interests

Music is one of my main passions. I love going to live shows, and jamming out. Yoga and meditation is also a main interest of mine. I love to read, and talk about philosophy and history.

Music, Movies, and Books

For music: I love jazz, rnb, folk, alt/indie, funk. I will listen to any genre really, I just love good music -- not picky. For movies: I love Kubrick films! Especially a Clockwork Orange and 2001 a space odyssey.
Books: Jack Kerouac I've been into recently, especially Dharma Bums and On The Road. I love poetry, like Frederico Garcia Lorca and Leonard Cohen.

I can teach French, English. I can teach bass, or music/jazz theory. I can teach the basics of yoga -- sun salutations, basic back and forward bends.
