Hello there! We are Maddy and Charlotte: best friends from Manchester, England, about to embark on a month-long trip through the USA! We are seeking some lovely people in New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville, Chicago and throughout California to host us in your home and show these Brits around. We are so excited to visit the States and learn as much as we can about the culture, the landscape and the FOOD (we are big foodies).

We are 23 years old. Charlotte is a recently qualified high school Science teacher and Maddy is about to start training as a high school English teacher in September. We have degrees in Chemistry and Literature respectively and we are very open, curious people, keen to learn more and expand our knowledge of the world.

We are looking for accommodation for our trip on couchsurfing because we feel staying with kindly locals will be the best way to truly learn about the places we visit! We hope to discover through our hosts the secret wonders of every city, the best bars and eateries and the politics and culture as it is felt and experienced by one who lives there. In return we offer stories from our little island and perhaps become long-distance pals for life!

Charlotte loves 80's tunes, indie, contemporary hip hop and anything good - she is the best DJ you could find for any situation.
Maddy loves 60's-70's everything, indie, contemporary pop and anything good - I have a love affair with The Beatles.

We both love a good book and as a Lit graduate Maddy reads constantly - some of her favourite authors are DH Lawrence, Elizabeth Strout, Henry James and Fay Weldon.

We can share our combined knowledge of religion, politics, and our ethics and ideas. We love to discuss philosophy and have a laugh! We also love to cook and would like to share recipes and learn knew ones. Perhaps we can make a feast together!
