About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore and engage

ABOUT ME

Recently completed my masters degree in urban planning, where I focused on transportation planning. I love exploring cities and learning all about them from a physical, social and political context. I love bicycles, politics, photography and exploring.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to learn about as much stuff as possible. I also do my best to have as much patience and understand that its never worth getting worked up about stuff that you cannot change.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have recently started couch surfing when i was in Europe in summer 2011. The people I met were some of the best components of my trip. In fall 2011, I started hosting people in Los Angeles and glad to be paying back to the couch surfing community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed in Amsterdam for my first couch surfing experience and it was great. The woman I stayed with was very nice and we got along very well.

I also surfed in Ghent with a reference from my surfing friend in Amsterdam and we had a great time, lots of good conversations and even more laughs.

Interests

Maps, music, exploring, transportation, photography, art, robots, new places, old places, making art, having never ending conversations, satire, sarcasm.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't really watch a lot of current movies so all my favorites are like 5 - 10 years old: blow, memento, fear and loathing, but now I just watch a lot of documentaries.

Music tastes are also quite varied. I'll listen to almost anything once to see if I like it.

This summer I read: The help, bossy pants, my horizontal life, the hunger games, those guys have all the fun, State of Wonder, Game of Thrones Series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Before sunrise, did a hike up the Masaba Cliff in Israel. It was a hard hike but watching the sunrise from there with the dead sea in the background was nothing short of amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've done a decent amount of teaching people how to make maps, but I kind of doubt that would happen in a couch surfing context...

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Costa Rica, Germany, Israel, Netherlands, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
