About Me

Hello! I am very new to this site, I've never couched surfed but I love the concept! I am a traveler at heart but unfortunately I haven't been able to venture out into this world too much. I am a true animal lover at heart, each and everything being on this earth is something meaningful and significant.

I appreciate classic films, literature, music and cooking. I am a classical voice major and study the operatic style singing but I dabble into all types of genres from jazz, classic rock, folk, musical theatre to Sardinian music that skims over jazz, experimental, improvisational, classical and punk.

I love to learn about different cultural lifestyles and cuisines. I've been vegan for a year and five months, but coming from a household of Italian and Mexican descent I am not to persnickety on the concept. I do it for me and for the environment but I am in no position to try and enforce my eating lifestyle upon others around me. So to each their own!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting locals who have walked the streets of their city and are able to teach me something I wouldn't get from a tour guide. Making connections with others all around the world and developing friendships with people who provide you with an authentic experience is why I enjoy couch surfing the most.

Interests

When I have free time I like to hike, bowl, jam out, dance to British 80 pop music, compose songs, meditate, tai chi, horse backing riding, reading and going to the beach.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Where do I begin?! I grew up listening to a lot of different styles of music, from jazz (20s, 40s,50s), classical rock, 80s pop/punk, 90s alternative/pop, Old School R&B, musical theatre, folk, I basically a music junkie.

Movies: Well, I can watch movies from the classic time of Hitchcock to John Hughes films and venture in George Lucas land. I'm not too sure I have a favorite though, but I am that person who quotes a part of a movie any given opportunity, haha!

Books: Hfff, I'll give you my favorite authors instead: The Bronte Sisters, Jane Austen, J.R.R Tolkien, J.K Rowling, Charles Dickens, Anne Rice, William Goldman, Losy Lowry, Author Miller and Stephen King.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Its nothing too amazing but I once fasted on a trip to the Mojave Dessert in California and hiked up these sand dunes. The spiritual energy out there was amazing and I felt so rejuvenated! A friend and I awoke the next morning and the whole sky was covered in pink and purple colors that we had to run up to the peak of this mountain to catch the sun rising.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people some concepts and sequences of Tai Chi. I can cook, mainly authentic Italian and Mexican food. Since I would one day like to become a voice teacher I've lately been giving voice lessons so if thats something you're interested in I'd be glad to share concepts on the voice!

I would love to learn about anything that make the city, state or country you live in and why it is special to you. What is it about the place that you live in that makes it beautiful? I am a language junkie, so if you would like to teach me yours I would be more than happier to learn!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love this beautiful world we live in and I believe we can always share and learn something from everyone. I'll share anything I possibly know, things from how to play the piano or sing in any style from learning how to cook or bake, I'm open to sharing anything.
