About Me
Hellooo nice to meet you! My name is Maddie and I’m originally from the NJ shore (we’re not all like the TV show I promise!) but moved to Denver in 2021 after living in Portland, OR for 4 years and have been loving it. I’ve done some couchsurfing in the past and always met the kindest, coolest, inclusive, and most sincere people! I think the couchsurfing community is a great one and I hope to convince my roommates to host people this year. And to do more traveling so I can meet new people!
A bit about me: big fan of ice cream, walking/biking/hiking/climbing, checking meowt new places, kitchen dancing, thrifting, crafting, karaoke, and all the doggos!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
1) I love that Couchsurfing is a community of people who share a love for traveling and sharing experiences with strangers who become friends :)
2) You can make the best of friends through random encounters! I'm still friends with my Bonnaroo camp neighbors from 2012 and met this amazing couple in Moab, UT in 2017 on a hike who lived in an RV full time with their family (7 daughters!). They invited me to have dinner with them and we had a great night hanging out with their neighbors in the RV park - the mom and I even stayed in touch for a couple years!
3) Locals show you the best things to do and places to go

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: big fan of most of it really!
Movies: Lord of the Rings (Two Towers is my favorite), cheesy horror and rom coms
Books: Dracula’s my all time favorite but my classic go to and also favorite is good ole Harry Potter. And I’ve been re-reading the Chronicles of Narnia lately!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went skydiving when I was 18 and was in a cloud for the first 10 seconds of free fall - it felt like I was suspended in the air!
I’m also fortunate enough to have been able to climb the Great Wall of China and be in Beijing right before the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Teach, Learn, Share
I met a woman in her late 80's on a trip to Maryland years ago who gave some great life advice:
- Happiness is a habit
- Live with a combination of curiosity and courage
- Make a bucket list; add to it/complete it often
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good company, a good guest, and a good time!
