About Me
Hello everyone! I found out about this app a while back but I’ve never actually used it!
My name is Madeline, and I am Australian. I have a bachelors degree, and I usually work as a Registered Nurse in a big city hospital in Melbourne. My mother was born here in Australia, and my father was born in the Netherlands. I have a toy poodle dog named Teddy, that I love so much, and I am lucky my parents are happy to take care of him when I am travelling.
I am wanting to travel more around the world as I feel like I’ve been missing out due to other priorities. I definitely have the travel bug now! I am really interested in staying with locals from countries, as it provides a more immersive experience. I am happy to do my own thing, or join you for dinners etc. so I am very flexible.
I have experience living in share houses in Melbourne, and in many hostels whilst travelling, and so I consider myself to know the appropriate etiquette in these situations. I would love to pitch in with things to help hosts out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would like to meet locals in order to experience the true culture of the places that I travel to, including the history, cuisines, lifestyles & traditions, and potentially make friends and memories to last a lifetime.
Interests
Family, friends, animals, pilates, yoga, food, music, photography, adventure, travel, outdoors and more.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like a lot of different types of music including rnb, pop, piano ballads, rock, and indie.
For movies I’ll go for a good comedy, thriller, horror, mystery, romance or drama.
When I make the time to read it’s usually a good mystery, or a self-help book.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been to New Zealand and I absolutely loved the South Island. I did the canyon swing, jet boating, and saw some of the most breathtaking scenery that you can imagine.
Teach, Learn, Share
I speak English very well and would be happy to teach it. I am trying to learn Spanish so help would be much appreciated. I would love to learn more about other cultures in the world, and their languages. I enjoy cooking and it would be fun to share recipes, and different types of cuisines.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will pitch in with food and help with cooking. I can tell my own travel stories and listen to yours, English teaching if you wanted that. Also being respectful and clean. Also, if you came to my home country then you would be welcome with me.
