About Me

At the end of 2016 I quit my job in London after having lived there for 5 years and bought a one-way ticket to Colombia. My plan is to travel around South America for up to a year before heading home again. I'm looking to meet some cool people along the way and to become a Spanish pro (starting lessons as soon as I get to Medellin in early Feb).

When I return to Sydney/Melbourne next year I will be opening my doors to fellow travellers!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've couchsurfed in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it . The people you meet along the way are what makes a place truly memorable.

Interests

I studied writing at uni and love to write when I have time. One day I'm certain I'll write a bestseller! I was recently initiated into the exciting world of e-books so rarely leave the house without an army of books nowadays. I work(ed) in Marketing but am considering doing something more creative post-travelling (open to suggestions!). I consider myself as being very social - I love going out and trying new things and meeting new and different people. I started running last year and became slightly addicted although it's so hot here that I haven't been tempted to pick it up again, although I have done a lot of hiking! I listen to really awful punk/emo music and not so uncool hardcore/metal too, so I spend a lot of time listening to that and going to concerts and gigs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best thing I've ever done was go to France for a year to study French. I didn't do all that much studying but I had the most amazing time travelling around Europe, meeting new people and making life-long friends, starving myself so that I could afford my next train ticket, killing my liver and gathering my thoughts.

In 2010 I volunteered in an orphanage in Vietnam through uni, and despite my writing 'skills' I can't really describe how amazing that was, and how hard it was for me not to steal one of the babies - and everyone that knows me can confirm that I'm not a 'child person'. When I'm rich and famous I intend to go back there and do something good with my immense wealth and advanced status.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a great cook (vegetarian although I can cook for non vegos too). If you have a pet I will shower it with unconditional love! I'm also the queen of Dad Jokes.
