Overview
About Me
I am a coffee-addicted farmer/musician. Originally from Vermont, I have spent the past few years loving life in Alaska, now, on the move again.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to meet new people in interesting places. Share a glimpse of each others lives. It's so much nicer to be in homes than hotels/hostels. Ideally, I'd get rid of borders, and we'd all be neighbors. Opening up our homes to future friends seems like a good start.
If you like to play music, sing, or love to listen, all the better
Interests
Playing music (guitar and banjo are what I'm good at) and singing, hiking, caffeine-induced talks, farming, swimming, cooking delicious food, learning things, reading, and playing more music.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like books, music and movies that are transportational. I love getting sucked into another world.
Music: Sun City Girls, Giant Sand, Califone, Frank Black, old Country & Bluegrass, jazz (including the noisy stuff), The Kinks, Schumann.... this could be a long list.
Movies: I tend towards European movies from the 50s-70s, but I will watch anything. I get sucked in. I tend to talk a lot during movies.
Books: Currently Gould's Book of Fish and The Piano Tuner. Past favorites include The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles, The Strange Last Voyage of Donald Crowhurst, East of Eden, Confederacy of Dunces, The Bridge of Birds, Dune, and Foundation.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to play guitar or banjo (guitar and banjo included), about life in Alaska. I'd love to learn about the best places you've traveled to, your favorite songs, and any languages. We can share laughter, songs, food, draw portraits of each other, or share our thoughts.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share good conversation complete with non-sequiturs, play music with you/for you, cook/bake you food, tell jokes (maybe not a good thing).
