About Me

ABOUT ME

My best friends have told me that they are comforted by my calm and gentle presence. I like to listen to people's daily lives and often very patiently. I have also been called wise by my best friends.
I also like to cook great meals- especially favorite dishes and to me its a great way to show that I care!
I have noticed that irrespective of what is the state of things outside or external to me, I am happiest when I am at peace with myself. And it is a state in which I often (though not always) find myself now. I consider it as a great achievement.
I am very adaptable to different living and cultural conditions and contexts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When i first learnt to bike on my own (that was two months back). The wind on my face, the confidence to ride a bike (I dont even drive a car so felt even more awesome), the sheer feeling of independence and joy..

When I first saw the very high himalayan mountain peaks from the little Himalayan village mountain top I was living in. They were hidden for weeks because of the monsoon clouds. And one day when the clouds cleared, I could see those peaks all majestic. The looked like they were hanging from the sky since the lower level clouds always hide their base and only the tops are visible. It was jaw dropping.

When I saw the destruction and devastation caused by the Tsunami that hit South and South East Asia in 2001. I went for relief work in the coastal villages and the calm sea never scared me so much as at that moment. There were upturned fishing trawlers, uprooted giant coconut palm trees all over the beach and hundreds of two storyed concrete houses reduced to rubble.
