ABOUT ME

An incurable optimist, I see the world through rose colored glasses. At any given moment I am happy and eager to go. Though fairly introverted and somewhat quiet, I am most definitely a people person.

PHILOSOPHY

The prompt questions for these things are just too BIG. I don't know about personal philosophies, but one quote that is almost always with me is--

"let the ambiguous procession of events reveal its own ambiguousness" --Herman Melville. In other words, no one knows what will come to be, so hang tight.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Come August I will depart for my grand European adventure. I am studying abroad in Switzerland in September, and hope to see as much beforehand as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far! I have traveled before and hosted exchange students.

Interests

I am by nature a documenter, and process the world around me primarily through photography. I love to photograph someone who protests, "Why me? I hate having my picture taken!" and upon showing them the picture, seeing the look of surprise and joy on their face when they see how lovely they are. I primarily shoot digital, but also really enjoy working with film.

I also really enjoy reading and travelling. There is always something new to see and learn and I cannot help but sometimes feel overwhelmed by all that I want do and the sense that time is rapidly slipping away. Anyways.

When not waxing pretentious about myself, I like cooking and rollerskating and walking around outside and meeting people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can speak backwards. I can make cakeballs. I can bake dozens of cookies veryvery quickly. I can down upwards of ten mugs of coffee in one sitting, in the very heat of summer.

I do not think that these are the kinds of skills this section wants. Overall, I think that I am a very balanced person. I have been exposed to many lines of thought (though am terribly sheltered still) and am good at accepting. Also, I would love to share my passion for photography with others.
