About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My life is a journey: Currently in the search of the ultimate happiness

ABOUT ME

I am a fun outgoing girl from a small town in Germany, who likes doing new things and making new friends all over the world. I am a laid back, open-minded, friendly person and easy to get along with. I study English and Geography and therefore I love traveling around the world and meeting new people, as well as experiencing and sharing their culture. I love the ocean and any outdoor activities. Staying positive and enjoying life are my mottos. I love catching up with friends and watching a game somewhere or going out with a bunch of people and head down to the beach, or go clubbing or bar hopping in the evenings. I'm very much a people person and enjoy making new friends wherever I may be in the world.

PHILOSOPHY

You only have one life, enjoy it and smile all along the way ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to return the favor of sleeping on your couch with cleaning or cooking. I am not a professional cook but I am able to serve you some traditional German dishes ;)
As I have lived in shared flats with some friends until now, I was not able to offer a couch myself. After returning from my travels in South America, I will hopefully have some space to host surfers! You are always welcome to visit me in Germany.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met soo many great people via couchsurfing who have also visited me in Germany and with whom I am still in contact. It is a perfect opportunity to get to know local people and as I am still trying to further improve my English, staying in hostels would generally lead to meeting lots of Germans and speaking German. I am always happy to meet new people and enjoy sharing travel stories and adventures :)

Interests

As I've already mentioned above I love the beach and any sort of sports activities, especially playing volleyball.

Music, Movies, and Books

This is a quite complicated question. How can you name your favourite book or film if there are so many of them?
If you want to know more about it, you can ask me later ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

* Climbing Mount Rinjani (3700m) on Lombok, Indonesia was one of the most challenging but also most rewarding experience I had. The view was amazing. You feel very small as a human being while climbing such a huge volcano.
I am looking forward to climb more volcanoes in South America :)

* Beeing a visitor of a traditional Indonesian burial near Rantepao on Sulawesi. The locals there celebrate the death of their beloved ones for days with ceremonies and animal sacrifices. It was an amazing experience to get an insight into this culture and it definitely changed the way I feel about death and burials.

As I have travelled a lot through Asia and Australia by now, it would be hard to write down all of my unforgettable experiences while travelling. But I am good at telling heaps of traveller stories while drinking a glass of wine or a beer :)

If you ever come to Germany you have to visit the Oktoberfest in Munich. This is an awesome festival that attracts people from all around the world. Although I am from Germany, I've been there last year for the first time in my life. I met some really crazy people, had many unforgettable conversations and enjoyed being part of a party with over 200,000 people dressed in traditional clothing ;)
If you want to visit Germany (and me) at some time, I would be happy to give you some advice where to go and what to see. When I am in Germany we could catch up and I can also offer you a couch to sleep on.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can certainly teach you everything about German and the German way of life. Maybe some cooking skills or playing volleyball?
I would like to improve my surfing skills. I tried it in Australia, Indonesia and NZ and hope to continue in South America. I am still a beginner but I would be happy if someone could catch some waves with me and teach me how to really ride a wave :)
