Name is Madison, I also go my Maddie or Mad/s. In 2017, I've decided to leave my cozy Bay Area home to explore the world while helping creatives and do-gooders build their business through communications.

I'm obsessed with people (extrovert at my core), Nature, and learning. My mom always said to remain a lifelong learner and that's my philosophy this upcoming year. It's a privilege to travel and I can't wait to put myself out there and see what the world tosses back in my direction!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I'm Couchsurfing for a few reasons, but most importantly, I'm looking for friendship, friendship, friendship!

1) While I'm an independent person, I love to be surrounded by people, specifically locals. I know I will have to stay in a hostel every now and then, but my goal is to really absorb different cultures and I think CS is a really great low pressure and chill way to do that.

2) In order to feel comfortable and fueled, I'll need some routine. Would love to be able to unpack my bags, cook for myself (and for others!), and not feel constantly on-the-go. I don't need to be babysat by any means, especially because there are evenings where I need to recharge while binging on Netflix or catching up with family - BUT would so appreciate you opening even a fraction of your life and community to me. I'd love to share my life experiences and heart with you in return. : )

3) While I'm CouchSurfing right now, I hope to host folks once I have a permanent home of my own after travels. Would love to make the connections now so I can return the favor and continue relationship building.

I'm an eternal optimist and lover of most things and at the very least, I try anything at least once! I love natural beauty and prefer to be outside most often.

I am hoping to work at least four hours a day while traveling and will need to have access to a strong wifi connection in town nearby or even at your home (if it's available!).

MUSIC: Billie Holiday, Sia, Regina Spektor, Chance the Rapper, Broadway musicals, etc.!

BOOKS: I just read Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts and I LOVED it. I can never go wrong picking up and re-reading a Harry Potter book either, guilty.

MOVIES: I am always up for watching any movie, aside from Horror, complete baby when it comes to horror films!

I went to Ghana my senior year of college and had the opportunity to work alongside my mom for about a month filming a short documentary on the dangers of maternal health. We got to travel quite a bit and hear so many meaningful stories. I also grew closer to my mom and learned a lot about video production. So thankful for that experience!

1) English, would love to teach anyone who is open to learning - hoping I can pick up some of your language in return. : )

2) I can share my communications skill set! Having worked in PR for more than six years, I've got a lot of great ideas and would be happy to share some thoughts as it pertains to branding, social media, PR, digital marketing, etc.

3) I love to take photographs too and I understand the importance of how a great photo can make someone feel good about themselves. So if you're looking for a new LinkedIn shot or a photo of you in your element, I'm happy to take your portrait.

4) Good old fashioned company - love to play board/card games, great hiking buddy, drinking buddy, and I love to cook and play music with people.

5) Hopefully a bed on the west coast of USA in the future!
