ABOUT ME

I love literature, art, and traveling and have tried to combine these three interestes in a Master's thesis that will also contribute something to people outside the US (as well as people in it). My research focus is African art markets. I live in Seattle and love it because of the mountains, the pine trees, the food, and the campy culture. I'm married to a man with an excellent moustache and a green thumb. I have too many goals and plans and am beginning to go where my path leads me rather than bludgeoning my own path all the time.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have just started and at the moment am mainly interested in meeting people in my travels to Cairo and Nairobi this summer, so that I can then provide a similar service to visitors in Seattle when I get back.

Intereses

Good food, sometimes slow, sometimes organic, sometimes homegrown. Good films, good books. Running, although I can't say I excel at it. Biking. Hiking and camping. Yoga. Wine. Music of all kinds, especially jazz and blues and more recently funk. I sing in a choir also.

I must confess here that I have been rotting my brain since the end of the quarter by consuming such stimulating fare as Return of the Jedi and District 9. Space can be symbolic, right? I'm reading the Stieg Larsson series. Don't let this fool you; I really was an English major. Plus, my excuse is that I am Swedish, half. Most recent concert was Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, which I don't have to feel ashamed about at all because they are fabulous.
