About Me

CURRENT MISSION Currently on a 4 month sabbatical from work travelling East Africa and North America to train for New York Marathon. ABOUT ME - Currently work in finance in London (having had brief spells in jobs as varied as a journalist, carpenter, farmer and curtain salesman). - Runner. from a sheer dislike of cross country at school to a 'when in East Africa, do as the East African's do' attempt at a half marathon in 2012, to a full-blown eat/sleep/breath runner in 2018. Ambitions to run quicker, longer and in more and more places in the coming years with plans to run a marathon for every letter of the alphabet - Vegetarian - somewhere in between veggie and vegan. started as a bit of an experiment 6 years ago but I also believe in the personal health benefits and global sustainability benefits. I also find vegetarian food more fun PHILOSOPHY "Every man dies but not every man lives" "A man practices the art of adventure when he breaks the chain of routine and renews his life through reading new books, traveling to new places, making new friends, taking up new hobbies and adopting new viewpoints" "Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up, it knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running" "a journey of a thousand mile begins with a single step" "I'm a great believer in luck and I find the harder I work, the more of it I have" T.Jefferson

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitch-hiking through Western Kenya was pretty wild but one of the coolest trips ever. It involved getting lost while hiking in the West Pokot mountains, camping on the shore of Lake Turkana and waiting 5 hours for a vehicle to pass that I could hitch a ride with!
