Hi! My name is Afrid and I come from India.

I've travelled a handful of places across India with my family and friends before falling in love with the idea of solo travelling.

Travelling for me is more about exploring people and cultures than limiting myself to the "must visit tourist spots". I like walking, roaming around the streets, observing people, paintings and architecture :)

When I'm travelling, I'm constantly on the lookout for inspiration for my "blog".. hence I end up viewing everything in a philosophical perspective. You never know when an idea might pop up!

I absolutely love the CS concept! It's a great way for me to meet people from different walks of life with different perspectives.

Couchsurfing is not really about free accommodation to me. It is all about cultural immersion to me. I want to experience the places I visit through the eyes of someone who lives there. Guides and tour packages are too superfluous and time-wasting sometimes. I want to build strong bonds in different parts of the world. I want to have great memories and even greater friends from the places I visit. I dont want just a picture with a popular landmark. Travelling for me is all about cultural immersion and cultural exchange. I am new to this concept, but I intend to adopt is as a way of life. It is just so amazing.

- Cycled almost 80km on a round trip
- Living in Jonha (A village in Jharkhand, India) for 12 days as part of a Skill Development program for villagers
- Taught me to play the guitar from YouTube videos. Still, have a long way to go, though
- Created my Instagram "blog" (@beyond.faces). I wish to be an author someday.. but still haven't figured out what I would write about🤔
