About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My Mission? To learn about the world. Through my studies, by listening to the stories of people in various corners around the world, and by watching life go by sitting in a coffee shop.
ABOUT ME
I started travelling the summer after I finished secondary school, and have done so as much as I could since then. I spent a year living in the UK doing an academic exchange and a year in Hong Kong for an additional academic exchange. I grew up in South Africa and now am based in Canada.
In all of the places I've been, my favorite part of my travels have been to meet local people. It's amazing how much you can relate to people no matter where they come from. I love it when I am shown around a city by someone who lives there and who shows me whose spots are special and unique to them.
I am also a firm believer in healthy-living, and do yoga, swimming, jogging, and the occasional aerobics. I love cooking and am always experimenting. I also love learning new recipes from different places!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am currently travelling for the next few months- and will unfortunately be unable to host for the moment. However, I am excited to meet some more cool people in my travels!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started couchsurfing in Japan with my friend, Trey Le. It was a great experience and our hosts were incredibly hospitable!
I have since then surfed in Boston and New York, and had some fascinating conversations, hilarious evenings, and was shown great food.
Interests
LIVE MUSIC! I love supporting up-and-coming bands and just the atmosphere of listening to them play while having a drink.
I also love visiting different coffee-shops and they are my favorite place to relax. I'm studying politics and culture and cafes are perfect locations for long and interesting talks!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love French movies. Audrey Tatou is amazing.
Also, C.S. Lewis is just so witty and great to read.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing that I've done? I backpacked Mount Mulanje in Malawi to stay in a hut overnight at the top. The view of the stars from there was stunning, and it is a great feeling of accomplishment to achieve such a goal.
Teach, Learn, Share
I spean French, Spanish, Mandarin, English, and Afrikaans, and love to teach people phrases and practice speaking with them.
