I use couch surfing to explore a place from a local's perspective, as well as meet new people and expand my network of friends. It doesn't hurt that this service is free, either. We all know how expensive traveling can be, so I'm terribly appreciative of folks who open up their homes to me and love to return the favor to anyone who passes through wherever I'm living by offering a safe, cozy place to stay.
