Hello there! My name is Maggie but a lot of my friends call me Deszi =) Either name is fine!
I'm an endlessly curious person who knows a little bit about quite a lot of things.

I've just returned from a two year trip and I'm moving to New Jersey where I would love to have some visitors so I keep learning about other cultures even when I'm at home. I really appreciate guests who can recommend books, music, and movies/TV shows from their home country!

I love learning new languages and nothing makes me happier than chatting in French or Spanish! I'd really love to have guests who would take some time to teach me a bit of their language!

I consider myself a pretty adventurous person. I love yoga, playing guitar and piano, horseback riding, surfing, rock climbing, scuba diving, kite surfing, documentaries, vegetarian food, and hiking. I love to try new things.

I am a vegetarian and have been for 14 years. I lean toward a vegan diet so just good to know if you are planning to visit. I prefer not to have meat products in my kitchen.

I come from a very small town near Boston in Massachusetts (which is known in the US as part of New England - a very distinct culture within the United States!).

I love meeting new people, especially people from other cultures! I would love to have people teach me to cook a special meal, practice a language with me and huge bonus points if you bring me a book from your country! I love books (but also other little souvenirs are always nice!)

I know that everyone I meet has an amazing life story I could never guess and knowledge of things that I know nothing about. So I hope to meet people just as enthusiastic and open-minded about the world as I am and keep learning

I love slow travel and my focus is meeting people and creating lasting friendships more than snapping pictures that millions of people already took before me of some landmark.
I like to think I'm a good listener and a good storyteller and just a generally positive person. My hope is that at the end of day, you feel just a little bit happier because you met me! And of course, I hope I feel the same!
