One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to the Philippines for the first time since I was a baby a few years back. I didn't know my family there so I felt that the bond to the Philippines I had felt was inauthentic. Throughout my stay there I was able to talk to my family and listen to their stories and become a person in their lives. On an outing they took me to a cave. We had lunch by a stream and headed inside. The walk and swim through the cave took 3 hours. I had already been humbled by our adventure inside the cave but I was brought to tears when I walked out from the dark to see a grand tree. It expanded its branches out to me and the rain kissed my cheek as though to say the Philippines recognized me. On our way back home I rode in the truck's trunk with my cousins eating pan and learning words from Pangasinan. To keep dry we hid under a tarp but the rain that had started when we left the cave found its way onto the backs of our neck but I felt warm as we laughed because I knew ambetel. I am still getting to know my family more but going through that cave with them had the amazing impact of making me feel connected to a place and people I had only daydreamed about.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a pretty good swimming teacher. If you have the will we can get you aswimming.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My ear, I'm a good listener :)
I'm willing to cook with you! I don't know recipes by heart but if you'd like to try something we can do it. Just consider this your warning, I only just recently mastered boiling eggs; I am unexperienced and enthusiastic.
