ABOUT ME

I have traveled to 49 states and 18 foreign countries, including having spent nearly a half-year backpacking around S.E. Asia. Obviously, I love to travel. I am a Reiki master and am very much interested in alternative healing techniques and other energy-related topics. I live well on a minimal income. I don't own a lot of things because I'd rather spend my money having adventures than toys.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I only have been hosted by 3 people, but have hosted travelers many times and have had wonderful visitors from a variety of countries.

Interests

Traveling, healing, music, people, art, spirituality (not religion), massage, environmental/climate issues, Reiki and other forms of energywork, jokes, being sung to or cooked for, helping loved ones thru their dying phase.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like music that doesn't blare at me. I'm especially fond of songs in the traditional or folk genres. I like movies that are not predictable, such as "Winter's Bones" and "Get Low." I often enjoy watching foreign films. I also like learning about climate issues and spiritual practices such as Taoism and shamanism.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wrote, directed and edited 2 documentaries, one of which was widely broadcast on TV throughout Canada and the U.S. Both films won one or more film fest awards.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have been a licensed massage therapist and a Reiki practitioner at the master level for over 20 years. I am willing to give a free massage or Reiki treatment to anyone who hosts me.
