I'm Davit Gigilashvili, Erasmus Mundus student from Tbilisi, Georgia. I currently leave in Saint-Etienne, France, but soon I'm gonna leave for Spain for my next semester.
I study color science, color imaging, computer vision, computer science.
I've traveled a lot around Europe, for study purposes, as well as cultural and networking projects as a member of NGO (while living in Georgia, I've been an active member of two NGOs, working on ecological, youth empowerment, social entrepreneurship and human rights topics) . I feel like a real travel addict, always seeking for new experiences.
I'm fond of football and always try to attend a match in the stadium of the local team while traveling.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Despite I've traveled a lot, I've never coachsurfed before (as for January 2016).
Staying at the hotels/hostels and participating in the planned tours seemed attractive at the very beginning but it became more tedious and boring by the time. Since I've lived with local community in Ukraine during my eco-project, I felt that all my previous experience was just a drop in the ocean. Living with locals make you feel the real soul of the local lifestyle and culture. Locals could share all the local secret attractions that neither can be found in ordinary travel guides, nor is included in standard travel agency tours. Interaction and living with locals is the only reliable way to get acquainted with real local culture, traditions, cuisine, lifestyle. Staying in hotels is like just to sightsee only the facade, while couchsurfing could be to sightsee a country from inside, from it's heart.
