To understand different cultures and have a better grasp of geopolitics.
I work as a medical doctor in Montreal and I'm still in residency. I grew up in that amazing city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surf and host.
I've met a nearby traveler from Russia in Montreal, Dmitry, and we hanged out during the summer (2009). We became close friends and we traveled together for 1 month in summer 2010 in Eastern Europe where we had priceless fun and priceless experiences. It's so cool that I earned a super nice friend because of CS.
In 2009, I've couchsurfed 6 days in Padoua and 6 days in Rome and both were great experiences. After that I tried my best to be a nice host myself and to give back to the CS community via guests everything I received and all the cultural exchanges that were done.
I hosted Giovanna from Germany 3 days in June 2010 and 6 days in May 2011
I hosted Harry from Greece for 2 days in June 2010
I hosted Barbara and Bernadette from Germany for 4 days in August 2010.
I hosted Amedeo from Italy for 1 week in February 2012
In Summer 2010, I couchsurfed
6 days in St-Petersburg
5 days in Moscow
2 days in Bucharest
All was perfect ! So nice couchsurfers everywhere :-)
Summer 2011, I couchsurfed in Torino and Milano.
Summer 2013, I couchsurfed in Bari (Italy), Kazan (russia) and saint-petersburg (russia)

I experimented traditional russian sauna in the datcha of my friend in the russian countryside. Laying nude in the sauna, my friend was lightly whipping me on the back with a bunch of green twigs from a tree.
