Native beigjiner and experienced independent Chinese teacher enjoys meeting individuals from different countries and exchanging cultures with them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I actually have done things like a couchsurfer before, although I am kind of new here. I wish I could know couchsurfing much earlier.

I have offered free help and complimentary tour guiding for several online foreign friends and I have invited some friends visit my home and family (teach them Chinese calligraphy and how to make dumplings, etc.)

I am most happy when helping my foreign firends better enjoy life in Beijing quickly by being their tour guide and assisting them with their daily life issues including translation, opening bank accounts, giving shopping advice, selecting accommodation, communicating with maid and driver, etc. And I am genuinely hornoured when I am the first person they talk to when they are depressed/upset or have difficulties.

As well, I am grateful to all my foreign friends for they have opened my mind to the outside world by making me see China through the eyes of outsiders, as well as helping me realize how Chinese culture and civilization have shaped my being and my thoughts.

Now I am going to NZ and I can't wait to meet new people and make new friends there!

兴趣

I enjoy talking to people from various walks of life and different cultures and backgrounds.

Other interests include helping people when needed, reading, walking, skiing,swimming, tennis, squash, animals and I am a big fan of food and cooking shows (e.g. Masterchef Australia and Junior MasterChef, etc).

Movies:
Dramas, comedies, horror movies, etc. So far my favorite movies are Taste of Cherry, Harold and Maude, Catch me if you can, The danish poet, Wallace and Gromit,etc.

Music:
Any music that combines with many various elements and sounds peaceful, mysterious or makes people relaxed or happy.I like some pop music, but currently I prefer nonmainstream music like folk, Gothic, black metal and death metal (the ones without screaming) and so on.

Books:
Books about travelling, pschology, cultures and cross cultures. Current favorite book is kind of an auto biographical novel named A concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers recommended by Amy Tan
