About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Become skilled enough to do impressions -- in German.

ABOUT ME

I love to travel. I am especially fond of saying that it's really not worth it unless you get to really hang out and get to know a place (faire sejour) so, if I can make that happen, let me know!

PHILOSOPHY

De gustibus non disputandum

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I got really involved in the CS community in Rome when I lived there. Shout out to all those guys! It was amazing.

Other than that, there's the obvious. I will let you sleep on my couch, if you provide me with reasonable proof that you are not going to destroy it/me in the process.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I said, I was really involved in the CS community in Rome... and I couchsurfed around a bit in Italy after that, and a bit in the US too!

Interests

ROMANS!

also:

psychedelic rock, garage rock, punk, opera, Jens Lekman and related styles, the French band M.
Movies, especially Werner Herzog and david Lynch... I also like the guy who did le placard and diner de connes... also, Was tun Wenn's Brennt is the coolest action movie I have ever seen.

Learning languages, being horribly wrong when trying to communicate in them, to the (hopefully) great amusement of those around me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I already talked a little about the first two. But I like Haruki Murakami a lot, and Kundera. And you know, all the stuff from Greco-Roman antiquity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in a village of about 12 in the Alps. Best summer ever!

Teach, Learn, Share

LANGUAGES! I love learning languages and learning about new music. One of my fondest CS memories is waiting for the bus to Milan from Florence with some French CSers (Hi Virginie & Antoine!) and showing each other new music. I finally heard the first -M- album...!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United States
