ABOUT ME

We've been married for six years and are still going strong! We abandoned our jobs to travel for 14 months and learn all we can through new experiences and the people we meet. We started in September 2007 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and have made our way through Brazil, Venezuela, Trinidad, Colombia, Ecuador (including an amazing visit to the Galapagos Islands) and Peru. We spent a fantastic month volunteering at an animal sanctuary looking after big cats in the Bolivian jungle, and surfed the huge sand dunes of the driest desert in the world in Chile (it rained while we were there!!). We spent a month in New Zealand working on farms in exchange for our bed and board (through HelpX), relaxed on Fiji for a week, and met up with friends in Sydney. Now we are on the final stage of our journey - South-East Asia. We like diving, trekking, horse riding, and we equally love the mountains and beaches. We'd love to settle in a country other than England, but are taking it slowly until we fall in love with the right place. We enjoy learning about new cultures and sharing experiences with people.
We're up for a party - as long as there is good dancing!!

PHILOSOPHY

No idea really! At the moment we're trying to learn as much as possible about new cultures. The world is so big and we're so ignorant - it's wonderful learning new things.

We have met a few couchsurfers and loved the experiences. It was great to meet people who enjoy meeting other people and sharing experiences from their culture - we would recommend couch surfing to anyone!

Floating effortlessly in the Dead Sea in Israel
Seeing the different cultures live side by side in Jerusalem.
Going on Safari in Kenya
Climbing Roraima in Venezuela and seeing the magical places, crystals and sunsets at the top.
The first sight of the Devils Throat at Iguacu Waterfalls in Argentina - being stunned at its magnificence.
Sitting on the banks of Canaima River overlooking the incredible Angel Falls.
Trekking across the hills in Salento, Colombia, admiring the amazing wax palm trees towering 20 metres over us.
Diving with hammerhead sharks and sea lions, and snorkling with eagle rays, white tip sharks, giant sea turtles and penguins in the Galapagos.
Riding on a tractor in the pouring rain with a sun umbrella in the very south of Brazil - loving the gaucho (cowboy) culture.
Watching the Amazon river and forests float by from our hammocks.
Loved the friendliness of everyone in Colombia and Brazil.
Travelling from Chachapoyas to Celendín by bus through the most spectacular scenery in northern Peru.
Being awe-strucked by Machu Picchu at dawn.
Watching the sunset on the Inca's Island of the Sun on Lake Titikaka.
Enriching animal lives at Parque Ambue Ari & getting the opportunity to walk through the jungle with Juguars, Pumas and Ocelots.
Diving in Fiji and wishing we could live on that sand bank with the 5 palm trees and gorgeous blue-green waters.
Taking the ferry across to the South Island on New Zealand not being able to describe the beauty.
The stunning drive from Blenheim to Kaikoura along with beautiful snowcapped mountains dropping dramatically into the see.
Jetting across the Sydney Harbour to see the Humpback Whales (not to mentioned being utterly surprise at how attactive Sydney is).
Walking for 8 hours along the coast of the Northern Beaches in Sydney.
Walking cautiously past the Komodo Dragons on Rinca Island.
Diving and Snorkling in Komodo National Park with giant Manta Rays - amazing.
Admiring the three coloured volcanic lakes of Mount Kelimuto on Flores Indonesia.
Running around Singapore's open concept zoo,
Marvelling at Malaysia and trekking through the oldest forest in the world with blood sucking leeches - Taman Negara.
Diving on the Perentians Islands - we didn't want to leave.
Trekking and rock climbing around Koh Phi Phi and Krabi on Thailand and being amazed by the limestone karsts.
Sailing down the river from Thailand to Loas and watching the incredible beauty of Loas and its amazing blue skies.
Tubing in Loas.
Cycling around the magnificient temples of Angkor in Cambodia.
