About Me
Hi everyone!
I'm Mai, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and currently living in Madrid, Spain.
I'm 31 years old and a professional musician. I work mainly as a session player, especially with the violin, but I also sing and play other instruments like keyboards, mandolin, and guitar. Music has been my world for years, but I'm also passionate about many other things!
I’m a big foodie and a specialty coffee lover (ok, I can be a bit picky—but I love sharing tips and trying new places!). I’m totally fascinated by languages and traveling—there’s something about exploring new cultures that lights up a part of my brain nothing else can.
I live and travel with my partner Leandro (actually, my husband!) and even though we don’t have a spare room to host at the moment, we’d love to meet people from all over the world, share a drink, a chat, or explore the city together.
Looking forward to connecting!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have lots of friends that usually use couchsurfing and I think that’s amazing.
I've hosted travelers two times (in my parents house) and I've used CS while traveling in Europe (some of my hosts are my friends now!).
I love meeting people from different countries , exchange experiences and learn languages
Interests
I like listening and playing music , dancing, cooking and sharing with friends, travel and more!
I love learning languages. Now I use to study french and I can speak some English. In a few years maybe I'll learn some italian or german.
Now I'm playing in different groups: tango, folklore, rock, jazz, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music, I listen to pretty much everything—from musical theatre and Argentine cumbia to rock, trap, and beyond. My Spotify favorites playlist is totally eclectic (and sometimes borderline chaotic). I rarely listen to full albums, but when I do, I get completely obsessed. I don’t have many musical prejudices (except maybe a small one against bachata—sorry!). And even though I’m a violinist, I don’t really listen to classical music and barely know any violinists—I’m not a fan of any in particular.
Listening to music with musicians can be a bit intense (we tend to analyze everything!), but I’m also the kind of person who sings harmonies to every song I hear, and watches *Harry Potter* while quoting the entire dialogue from memory. Yep, I’m that person.
Since moving to Spain, I’ve slowly gotten back into the habit of reading. I got completely obsessed with Carlos Ruiz Zafón and *The Cemetery of Forgotten Books* series (*La sombra del viento*, etc.), and now I’m learning to enjoy lighter reads too—not just big-name authors. I think it’s just as important to read for fun as it is to dive deep, and it helps me disconnect from social media too.
My comfort show is *Gilmore Girls*—and of course, I’m *Team Jess*.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Two years ago, my husband and I went to an object theatre festival in Charleville-Mézières, France, very close to Belgium. We drove from Madrid, stopping at various campsites and sleeping in the car along the way. At the festival, we met up with some friends who were performing—my husband had composed the music for their play, and I had recorded the violin parts!
A few years ago, I took my car and traveled nearly 4,000 km. I started in Buenos Aires and drove all the way to Patagonia to visit my family in San Martín de los Andes. Then I crossed into southern Chile before heading back to Buenos Aires.
Now we’ve moved to Madrid, looking for new adventures!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach some music, especially violin, and a bit of piano :)
I LOVE cooking and sharing recipes from all kinds of cultures!
I can also teach Spanish, and I’m happy to share what I know about coffee, languages, or general culture. I enjoy contributing from whatever knowledge I have and exchanging experiences with others.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m a really good cooker and I really love to prepare special meals for the people as a gift for hosting me!
I really enjoy chatting about life in different cultures and countries, I think that’s the reason why I love traveling.
At home, I usually play and practice with bands and orchestras, you can come with me, drink some mate (argentinian kind of tea haha :) and meet my friends .
