Hi! My name is Maia. I'm 22 years old and recently graduated college with a degree in public relations. This trip to Europe is a graduation present to myself! I'm traveling because I think it is a great learning opportunity, both of the world and of myself. I studied abroad on Argentina for four months and found it to be an eye opening and humbling experience. I'm looking to make connections and learn from others on my journey, because I believe the more I learn from others the better of a person I will become. I especially want to Couchsurf because I am eager to learn about other cultures and build relationships with people. I am less interested in seeing tourist sites and more interested in making connections and meaningful relationships. I thought Couchsurfing would be a great opportunity for this ambition.
So far on my travels I've been to Belgium, Holland, Italy, France and Spain. I'm going where the wind takes me and so far life seems to be taking care of me!
I love the outdoors and any activity outside, especially in the water, like swimming (I would love to learn how to surf!) I grew up in a rural town and for as long as I can remember have been hiking, biking, horseback riding, gardening... Put me outside and I'll be happy. :) I also love to read. And about nine months ago I began practicing yoga daily. It has really improved my well-being physically, mentally and spiritually. If you read this, thank you and I hope to meet you!

Favorite movie is Amelie and favorite book is The River Why. I'm not picky when it comes to music! I do think what other people prefer says a lot about them so it always interests me.

I learned how to bake some delicious carrot cake after working in a food cart in Holland. If you're interested in yoga I could compose an amateur class for you :) I'm not a teacher but practiced daily at home.
