About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet like-minded people who are laid back with a sense of adventure, a hearty helping of compassion and an uncontrollable thirst for life. Also acceptable: Overflowing amounts of hilarity & mile-long smiles.

ABOUT ME

I LOVE sunsets. Most people consider me to be pretty laid back and quite honest (but in a good, non-insulting way). I think my views and perspectives on life are refreshing and I tend to enjoy life a bit too much. I love people and truly believe that we can learn something from EVERYONE. I love traveling, especially without a plan. I believe everything happens for a reason and I prefer listening over talking. I like seizing all opportunities. Books are some of my closest companions. I love to learn and to teach, because education is the only way to end poverty and exist in harmony. I have recently fallen in love with pineapple, especially cold pineapple. My thoughts are scattered but I keep a pretty tidy place. If I could, I would travel the rest of my life and volunteer my time while doing so. I have no intentions of being rich, just out of debt. Love is all you need.

PHILOSOPHY

Jai Yen Yen. It's a Thai phrase that literally translates to cool, cool heart. In Thailand, you say it as a reminder to yourself, and others, to have a cool heart and calm mind. Why be angry when you can be happy? So relax and stay cool, calm and BREATHE!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been, primarily, the surfer in the past, but I'm looking to share the love and do some hosting.

Interests

ANYTHING outdoors; running, hiking, camping, sitting under trees, watching elephants in the wild, swimming in clear, clean waterfalls, music festivals. Yoga is INCREDIBLE. I also LOVE books and I am by NO means a book snob, I like to give every book/genre a chance. Music has been transformative for me. I'm also interested in basic human rights.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like documentaries, gangster flicks and just about anything that will make me laugh. I love all kinds of music. Although, I'm not so into country music or trance. I read any and everything under the reading rainbow-books are my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The sunset on Rabbit Island off of Cambodia is, to this day, the most amazing sunset I have ever seen and my favorite island in SE Asia.

Teach, Learn, Share

-I love to TEACH! I can teach you some Thai if you're planning on visiting Thailand. I'm a super great cook (well, good enough), so I can teach you how to cook a few meals as well; Italian, Mexican, Indian, Thai-you name it, I can probably cook it (if you give me some time to google it). And yoga...let's stretch, I'll teach you.
-I want to LEARN everything! I'm like a sponge, trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible. I love to learn, so please teach me a few things.
-I can SHARE my smile, stories, peace and love. I love to share, so let's share together :)
