ABOUT ME

I'm 22, have just graduated from University with a degree in English lit, and am wondering what to do next.. My main focus at the moment is improving my Chinese, and exploring China - past, present and future. I'm pretty easy going, but also pretty devoted to doing things that *I hope* are worthwhile. That includes teaching, acting, writing, and studying, but often takes in plenty of cooking, dancing, and just generally playing around!

PHILOSOPHY

Fight the power!! But also, more soberly, I try and take into account the power and privileges that I may have and do the best things I possibly can with them. I'm also working on being less doggedly independent, and becoming more aware of the communities that support me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new here, but was recommended the site by my cousin who introduced me to a couple of her CouchSurfing buddies. Upon arrival in Taipei, where said cousin was working a summer job, I was swept off by both cousin and her new friend Olivia to a night of street-market strolling, hot-pot, and finally an awesome Steve Aoki gig! I've travelled quite a lot, but have never found myself so well acquainted with a place and its happening areas so quickly.

After 7 years of boarding school, I've come to be a pretty good masseuse, and not a bad cook. In fact, despite often raging about the consignment of women to domestic roles... I can bake a brownie, braid someone's hair, and fold a shirt faster than anyone I know. Oh yeah, and I can fold paper until it looks like a horse, a heart, a crane etc.
