ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm Maija, I'm nice and easy to get along with (unless you're a cat. I'm very allergic to cats, my life's tragedy). I use a lot of brackets when I write and could go on for hours about my favorite band(s). I study Scandinavian languages and literature in Helsinki, though this fall I'm moving (back) to Sweden to study journalism. I like cheese. I am extremly afraid of mice. I'd like to travel a whole lot more than I do now (well yeah, who doesn't?).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm looking for hosts for me & my sister (Venice, Rome, Barcelona, somewhere in Western France, Paris, Amsterdam, Brugge, Berlin!). I live at my parents' this summer in Kauhajoki - if you happen to visit Kauhajoki, you're very welcome!
Maybe I'll be able to host you next year in Umeå!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The times when I've actually surfed - three times, all of them in Sweden - were really positive experiences.
But then the negative side: I send numerous requests to hosts in Amsterdam and Brugge, and received two replies, both being "no". The rest of them didn't even bother to reply. So umm yeah thanks for that. A simple "decline" would've been nice.

Algo increíble que he hecho

An old-fashioned carousel in Strasbourg. It was dark elsewhere but the carousel was lit, and oh so beautiful.
Stepping in to a narrow street in Malmö in December and finding an amazing toyshop at the end of it.
