Hi, I'm Maike.

For seven years I'm living and studying in Cologne, the town with the most wonderful cathedral in the world - probably. Originally I'm from an old, small town in the flat countryside of western Germany.

At the moment I'm doing my Master in musicology at the university. That's basically what describes me best. Music is a very important part of my life, it accompanies me since birth.
If I'm not making or listening to music I may be meeting some friends or watching movies. I can be nerdy if it comes to these. Certainly in a likeable way, I hope.

Furthermore, I'm interested in various sports. In the past I danced the ballet, today I play badminton. I like to watch football (not only championships but ordinary matches as well).

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I'm here because my best friends are active couchsurfers. They travel and host a lot and also organize a weekly couchsurfer-meeting in Cologne, which I attend as often as possible. I like to meet new, foreign people and learn about their cultures and lives.

I've experienced couchsurfing in Porto Alegre (Brazil) in October 2017 for the first time and it was really cool! So I'd like to try it again the next time I'm abroad.

Unfortunately, I can't host. I'm living in an one-room flat, that doesn't have much place.

- attending a traditional cèilidh with music and dance (Scotland)
- swimming in icecold North Sea water without dying from cold shock (Sweden)
- spontaneous singing at night on Montmartre, the Eiffel Tower in view (France)
