CURRENT MISSION

Before birthing my son, I dreamed of worldwide travel, photography and writing. I Love seeing "real life" in places I visit! Once a year (or more if we can!) a group of my friends join together on a "girls trip", which we all look forward to. Current mission: learning to joyfully navigate life with the "empty nest".

ABOUT ME

Guess I included much above already. Am not a terrifically adventurous, risky or physical (hiking etc.) type of traveler. Love getting to know PEOPLE, traditions, etc. Tropical vacations energize me. Cruises are best for true relaxation, which I'm grateful for when working too hard catches up with me! Love doing women's trips, spiritual stuff, personal growth/development.....girly stuff. Also, home schooling 13 yr old son and would LOVE to do a major extended travel thing.

PHILOSOPHY

Ethical and trustworthy - I do what I say I will. Communication, caring, heart connections turn me on. I live my life to help others, and give the gift of self and son to the world. Am known to be exceptionally accepting of differences between people and giving benefit of the doubt (ie not cynical or quick to judge.)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't had the pleasure of being a guest yet, but love hosting people visiting in this area. Families too! When I first discovered this, I had visions of "homeschooling" my son while traveling the world, but life's circumstances didn't go in that direction. But that's ok ... the future is an open book!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When traveling in New Zealand (fell in love with a Kiwi and we kept spending a few months there and a few here!), I did several "homestays" ...which seems to be the equivalent of the CouchSurfing experience. Only, you do pay to stay with them! Loved learning about the area from the real locals vs. the tourist traps.

In order of preference: books, movies, music. Books and music inspire me, but I don't spend time just sitting and listening to music (except when on vacation!). Have wide variety of interests in books and music. Movies: don't like blood 'n guts or horror; enjoy most others.

I traveled with 17 women to Bali for two weeks, integrating ourselves within the culture. The deeply feminine, creative and spiritual experience was a once-in-a-lifetime gift to my soul.

wow. Want to learn Italian. Struggling to learn digital camera. Would love to learn from fellow homeschoolers. Able to share? Professional Development, especially in the field of property management. Memory Albums (scrapbooking). Sewing.
