ABOUT ME
I love old books, fresh air, people watching, and can think of few things I better enjoy than ghost hunting, though I can't stand scary movies. I could subsist solely on mashed potatoes and chocolate cake. Also, I am allergic to shrimp.
PHILOSOPHY
I can resist anything but temptation- Oscar Wilde
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now, I'm just a surfer, but I'd love to hang out if you're in town!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
At this point, I have only had one couch surfing experience and I kind of feel like I wouldn't ever travel any other way! Not only does couch surfing save a TON of money, you get to see places the way the locals see them and can skip out on a lot of the overpriced, talked-up tourist traps that have sprung up all over the place.
Interests
Blogging (http://thedailysavant.blogspot.com), fashion, making clothes, knitting/crochet, dance (I am a classically trained ballerina, though I developed arthritis when I was 14, that career ended quickly!), writing (I self-published a novel several years ago) thrifting, reading, crafting from found objects, and singing in the rain.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-After a long night of dancing in Paris, I ran across the Etoile to the Arc de Triomphe. My shoe fell off somewhere in the middle and we somehow managed to get an action shot as proof. When we got to the Arc, the gendarmes swarmed us with guns, but we just spoke horrid French and pretended to be lost and they sent us on our merry way!
- I once got bored and drove from Chicago to Glacier National Park in Montana. I didn't pack my passport, but when we arrived at the Canadian border, I talked border patrol into letting me walk unsupervised to the marker between countries and stick 49% of my body on the Canadian side.
Teach, Learn, Share
I work as a special educator and through this job, I come into contact with the type of person that society often doesn't really know how to talk to, interact with, etc., but I've found that through getting to know people with special needs, I've learned a lot about the way the human race functions. I love to figure out why people do the things that they do.
I am also a fashion and life(style) blogger by night. It has been an incredibly rewarding experience to sort of become the CEO of myself and learn to run a successful business!
