ABOUT ME

Somehow, I landed in Zurich, five years ago. I started my studies of german language and history there - without even knowing the city. Meanwhile, I love it for its possibilities of having fun, its beauty in the evenings and most of all for its people (well, most of them:)).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I sort of "co-hosted" quite a lot of couchsurfers who were invited by my former roommates and by now, i've hosted a few of my "own" surfers!

Interests

reading, watching butterflies, knitting hats (usually i knit, when it's summer outside:)), going for walks, hiking, writing, redecorating (if only i had the money:)), driving by bike to the lake on a warm summer-evening to take a swim and watch the stars afterwards, watching tv-series and spending hours at bookstores

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: sometimes solemn, sometimes hilarious, sometimes sad, often with beautiful singing voices (e.g. muse, damien rice, amy macdonald, adele, wir sind helden, ben folds, die ärzte, movie-soundtracks, glen hansard, beirut, leonard cohen, the baseballs, tenacious d, eric clapton, the cranberries, rebecca&fiona, irish folk)
Movies: a film i really enjoyed was 'once' - because of the music. i like it, when the music and the lyrics play a role in the story (e.g. atonement, casablanca, les choristes, juno, lord of the rings, pride and prejudice, elizabethtown, mio fratello e figlio unico, a room with a view, x-men, "the dude" and disney`s cinderella:))
Books: historic novels, especially the claire and jamie-stories by diana gabaldon, romances, julie orringer's "the invisible bridge" and the famous plays of schiller, goethe, shakespeare and all the other brillant past writers, jane austen and the brontë-sisters, i was amazed by scarlett thomas's "troposphere" and jonas jonasson's "der hundertjährige der aus dem fenster stieg und verschwand"
