About Me
Please do NOT solicite for dating!
One of my philosophies in life is that you can either live ordinary or extraordinary...and i often choose the extraordinary. I am a dork and like to be light hearted and goofy, while at the same time profoundly valuing having deep, philosophical conversations with people.
Another philosophy of life I hold dear is Tikkun Olam...Hebrew, meaning 'repair the world.' I believe that people have the power too better the welfare of the world through individual acts of kindness, beauty, selflessness, and bravery.
Putting one's trust into the unknown world is no small feat, but the risk is worth it if it means saving the world and humanity one connection at a time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Another philosophy I live by is that home is wherever I feel a sense of community. This will be my first time traveling solo, and I am looking to expand my community and sense of family. Staying with locals is the way to do this. I want to get a better feel and experience the culture from the local perspective. I'd much rather stay with local people than be separated by staying in a hotel. I truly believe that anthropology, studying culture, is one of the avenues for building empathy by learning that there is no one "right" way to be and live in this world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music!! I don't really play an instrument...I did learn guitar for a few months before leaving for college and hope to pick it back up again at some point.
I'm a big fan of jam(Lotus, Queen, Talking Heads, Tauk, The Werks, String Cheese Incident, Earphunk, Dopapod, Gorillaz, The Main Squeez), funk (Bruno Mars, Kool & The Gang), dance/trance(Above & Beyond , Kygo, Stromae, Big Wild), hip hop, pop, rock, bluegrass, soul(India Arie, Alicia Keys, Janelle Monae, Joss Stone, Aretha Franklin, D'Angelo), world music, classical (Indian and symphonic), Spanish guitar Rodrigo y Gabriella), Irish jig, jazz, Bollywood, African drumming, acoustic- folk(Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Nora Jones), Australian synth-pop (Empire of the Son, Miami Horror, Flume, Hermitude). I also love classical music laid over hip hop beats. I like some metal music such as Primus, Rage Against the Machine, The Marz Volta, Pendulum). Honestly not much of a fan of contemporary country music.
Imogen Heap, Florence + The Machine, Regina Spektor, Bjork
