CURRENT MISSION

Have an epic time in Australia and Southeast Asia, drink a lot of cappuccinos, meet wonderfully crazy people, drink wine, camp, hike, play guitar around campfires, make amazing vegetarian food, go where my gut takes me, go home with stories to tell.

ABOUT ME

I've just finished up two years at Pearson College (UWC) and am off on a year of adventurous travels through Australia, Southeast Asia, and wherever else the wind takes me. I'm a laid back easy going Canadian who likes to get to know people, share experiences, have fun hanging out with friends in a grassy area with some guitars, wandering around exploring new places on foot, and taking opportunities as they come. I'm not really a party animal, but I like hanging out with a beer or glass of wine or going out to live music. I'm the kind of person who loves living out of my backpack, learning from new people, having new and crazy experiences, and just living the hell out of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just started surfing in Australia and am absolutely loving it! Hostels are fun, but I love getting to know locals, staying in homes, getting to know people I wouldn't normally run into on the hostel circuit, and getting the inside scoop on the places I visit.

Interests

Music of the Xavier Rudd/City and Colour/Mother Mother/Tallest Man on Earth/Atmosphere/acoustic/funk/unconventional kind. Walking everywhere, biking everywhere else. Finding the cafe with the best coffee, vibe, music, and couches in every place I go. Eating and making scrumptiously yummy veggie food (I'm a vegetarian life-timer). Swapping stories with the people I meet along my way. Making mistakes, figuring it all out, and taking everything I can from the experience. Roadtripping, hiking, camping, exploring. But most important of all, saying 'yes' as much as I can.

Climbed half-way up a mountain in a blizzard, camped in the blizzard, got up the next morning, dug myself out and kept going.

Teach, Learn, Share

It will all work out in the end. Even if it's not the way you expect and you have to go through some tough stuff, you'll always learn and get something from every experience. So no need to freak out about missing that plane! Or train, or bus. It's all good.
